MKU Weatherford Team

My name is Kathryn Simmons, but most call me Katie. I have been with my husband for over 17 years and married for almost 16 of those years. We have lived in the Weatherford, Texas for 14 years and absolutely love it here. Together, we have four daughters. One of my daughters is hard of hearing/mostly deaf and she is also into theater. Our oldest daughter is very active in the Weatherford High School band and color guard. Our youngest two are very athletic and will be joining team sports soon.

Professionally, I have worked in early childhood development over the last twenty years. I have taught ages 18 months to eighteen years old. I was a nanny for multiple years and worked for my church’s youth program as an assistant youth director, focusing on 6 weeks to about 3 years old. I also helped run a mom’s group and my daughter’s Girl Scout troop.

In February of 2023, I was hired as the assistant director of Montessori Kids Universe Weatherford. MKU has been a great example of what an authentic Montessori school has to offer, and I love that we are able to share that with the Weatherford community. I have loved my time with MKU and can’t wait to see all the children continue to grow and develop into wonderful, independent members of the community!
