Our teachers (guides) have a variety of impressive qualifications and Montessori training that makes them the perfect facilitators of your child’s education. They are passionate and creative individuals ready to elevate your child’s learning experience. We see teachers (guides) as the vessel of your child’s learning, therefore we seek the highest quality individuals. Additionally, each classroom has a teacher’s assistant in order to help with the many tasks and cater to each student’s individual needs. Because of the importance of our Montessori individualized learning and personal assessment component, teaching assistants are very important to the classroom.

Michelle Hammitt – Head of School/Director

I have been in the education field for over 24 years. I was a Pre-K and Kindergarten Teacher at Kent Academy Private School for 6 years. I have also worked for Fort Bend ISD for over 20 years.  I started studying the Montessori philosophy years ago. I began touring Montessori schools for my granddaughter. I was amazed, and I knew that that was my calling.  I have worked with all ages of children in the Montessori environment. I became a Director for a Montessori school and never looked back! When I became the Director of the school, it was life changing! The joy of watching the students learn and grow in the Montessori environment is truly amazing!  I love teaching my staff all the ways to promote the Montessori philosophy. We are focused on teaching the true Montessori ways of learning. Our curriculum is hands on and will ensure the adherence to high academic expectations for the children of our future! I love to motivate my teachers to employ Montessori methods in education, classroom management, grace and courtesy. I am so excited to be able to welcome new families to my family here at MKU Bellaire! I look forward to helping our future leaders grow and strive in all they choose to do and become!

Victoria May

Welcome to the toddler classroom!

My name is Ms. Victoria. I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology and hold a teacher’s certification as well. My passion for teaching really started in 2015 during my senior year of college when I was chosen to mentor a child from an elementary school. Following graduation, I chose to do 480 hours of student teaching! Being a teacher has really been my love and focus of attention since that time.

I have faith in the Montessori way of learning because it allows a child to be in charge of, and responsible for their own learning. I absolutely love art and the Montessori teaching lets children express themselves and learn through it. As a teacher, I hope to inspire children to chase after their dreams and to learn about the world around them.

Thank you for choosing Montessori Kids Universe Bellaire for your children!
